EV Charging Stations in Canberra

You can generally find public charging stations in Canberra at shopping malls, supermarkets, petrol stations and hotels.

Some options in Canberra include:

• ActewAGL and Evie Turner charging hub, 34 Watson Street, Turner (two dual-port 75 kW DC fast chargers and two dual-port 22 kW AC chargers³, listed in the ACT Government's register of government-funded public chargers)⁴
• Evie Casey Market Town, 15 Kingsland Parade, Casey (two DC fast chargers across four bays, rated 75 kW by the operator⁵
• Chargefox Charging Station, Royal Australian Mint, 62-114 Denison Street, Deakin (six DC fast-charging bays, five of them up to 150 kW and one 50 kW CHAdeMO, installed by ENGIE and running on the Chargefox network⁶

The ACT has set a goal of zero emissions by 2045⁷. A big part of this initiative includes support for EVs, with a goal of 80-90% of new light vehicle sales being ZEVs (zero emissions vehicles) by 2030⁷. To help with the change, the number of publicly available charging stations in Canberra and the ACT has been steadily increasing.

• The ACT Government met its target of 180 public charging stations in May 2025, when Canberra drivers had access to more than 250 individual charging bays⁸. By September 2026 the network had grown to more than 330 public charging bays, with a further 86 bays on the way through the ACT Government's Public EV Charging Infrastructure Fund⁹.
